Mark de Paola - Five Years and Sixty Seconds + Print

$500.00 Out Of Stock

Pickup currently unavailable at Camera West Rancho Mirage

Five Years and Sixty Seconds encapsulates the entirety of Mark de Paola’s fine artwork from 2015-2019 including 402 pages of his fine art series 60 Seconds, Art of Backstage, Recent Work, Ema, You, and brand new work titled Pearling and Provini.
Published by Brilliant Press, the book serves as a precious artifact in a highly limited edition of only 200 copies with printed cloth covers and gold title inlay, bound in brown leather. Very few copies still remain.

Five Years and Sixty Seconds opens with Mark's text titled Love Song, an ode to shifting his historically commercial fashion career to a very personal, heartfelt, fine art lens.

Brief glimpses of prose transport the viewer into Mark's completely unedited and uncropped view exploring the in and out-of-focus areas of the image as it relates to the neurobiology of human vision.

Recent Work is de Paola’s most current fine art series that debuted at PhotoFairs SF alongside Fred Lyon, Ralph Gibson, and Danny Wilcox Frazier with the Leica Gallery San Francisco in the Winter of 2018. Created over several years, the series includes portrait, nude, landscape, and inanimate objects, and narrates de Paola’s memories, feelings, and impressions of people, places, and objects he has known.

Previously exhibited at the Leica Gallery Porto, Leica Gallery Milan, and Leica Gallery San Francisco. Monographs Recent Work I and Recent Work II are included in the permanent collection libraries at MoMA NY and The Getty, Los Angeles.

On January 7th, 2016, 60 Seconds opened at the Leica Gallery in San Francisco to great acclaim.

The 60 Seconds series plays as the anchor in the book being the centerfold story so that when the book lies open on a table it naturally opens to Mark's beginnings in the fine art realm and the root of his inspiration.

Art of Backstage is de Paola’s journalistic document of the fashion week backstage environment in New York City, London, and Milan. The series has previously been exhibited at the Leica Gallery Soho, Caelum Gallery, Leica Gallery GINZA SIX, and Leica Gallery Boston.

Three Vignettes conclude the monograph in personal bodies of work with de Paola's closest collaborators in Ema, You, and Provini.

Five Years and Seconds proves to be a highly precious photography collector's monograph that will only wear and patina more beautifully over time as you live with de Paola's highly lyrical, emotional, and poetic body of work.

We highly recommend visiting us in person to experience our fine photographic tools before deciding which tool best fits your needs. Please note that our inventory is distributed among our three stores, and what you see online may be at any of these locations. Below are a few points that we’d like to make in order to meet your needs for in store pick up.

The location of each item is indicated online. For convenience, you can choose to pick up your item at any of our stores. Once purchased, the item should be ready for pick up within 4 hours at the designated store, although this might vary depending on the store's busyness and time of day. We request that you wait for a notification from us confirming that your order is ready for pick up, to ensure the best service.

If your chosen item is not available at your preferred store, we can transfer it there after purchase. If you want to pick up an item at a different store, select that store for pick up during checkout, or choose a regular shipping method and let us know your preferred pick up store via support@camerawest.com or by responding to your order confirmation email.

We offer a concierge trade-in program for the gear you'd like to upgrade, cross-grade, or simply pass on to a new owner. This enables you to acquire the tools that fit your specific needs. The easiest way to trade is to bring your gear into one of our stores and meet with us in person. However, we also accommodate those who can't visit our stores. Our online process is both personal and simple.

To begin, fill out the form on our Trade // Sell page with the details of the fine photographic equipment or watches you'd like to trade in. One of our team members will then contact you to confirm any details we might need for an accurate estimate. We will provide an estimate that doesn’t only look at the value of your trade in but the whole picture of where you want to go. If the estimate is satisfactory to you, we can provide a shipping label for you to ship your gear to one of our stores for a final inspection and store credit. Finally, we apply that credit towards your new gear!
