Grade: 9+ | System: | Medium:

The photographs in this book were made by Jungjin Lee in the Everglades for the Norton Museum of Art's exhibition "Imaging Eden". Bringing her unique meditative approach to this subject, Lee captured a sense of stillness in the constantly moving landscape - one inhabited by endangered species like the manatee, the American crocodile, and the elusive Florida panther. Her photography is imbued with elemental vastness and wonder. Using a multilayered process that integrates elements of painting, Lee's photographs exude a materiality not often found in photography. The Florida Everglades is one of the most extensive and complex wetlands on our planet. It has been declared an International Biosphere Reserve, a World Heritage Site, and a Wetland of International Importance. It is the third-largest national park in the lower 48 states.

Beautifully printed on lush uncoated Japanese paper, Everglades is limited to 2,000 copies presented in a green cloth slipcase; both book and slipcase were designed by the artist herself.

Jungjin Lee's photography is imbued with elemental vastness and wonder. A former assistant of Robert Frank, she creates large scale landscapes employing a unique interplay between image and material. Jungjin Lee was born in South Korea in 1961. Her photographs have been widely published and exhibited internationally, and are housed in many important collections, including those of the Metropolitan Museum of Art; Whitney Museum of American Art; FNAC, Paris; the LA Museum of Art; and Houston Museum of Fine Art.

Product information

We appreciate and encourage the resale of pre-owned gear. Well made gear is built to last, and despite a rapidly evolving market, frequent upgrades, and some companies phasing out gear quickly, we aim to constantly find new lives for pre-owned items. We are committed to ensuring the pre-owned gear you purchase from Camera West is in a condition that promises reliability for years to come.

Testing & Inspection

Each piece of pre-owned gear undergoes extensive testing and inspection to ensure it's in good working order. We meticulously note the finer details of an item's condition or function to maintain transparency. This attention to detail may deter some buyers when we mention "minor dust" in a lens, or "faint edge wear" on an otherwise mint condition camera. However, we note these details out of our responsibility to provide an accurate and wholistic representation of the item to you.

Real Photos & Description of The Specific Item

We provide a photo of each pre-owned item for sale, refusing to use generic images. Despite the time, effort, and cost saved, we consider using generic images dishonest. Each pre-owned item you view on our website includes specific photos and description written up by a real person, and photographed in house before we publish an item for sale.

24hr Inspection Period

All pre-owned items come with a 24-hour inspection period (beginning once the item is delivered) to ensure the item arrives as described. If any issues arise, we request you contact us immediately at support@camerawest.com so we can address the problem.

All our shipments are fully insured. For shipments valued over $200, a direct signature will be required upon delivery.

We utilize various shipping carriers, with FedEx Express being our primary choice for 2-Day and Overnight shipping within the US, as well as International deliveries.

We accept returns within 14 days of delivery, subject to a restocking fee of up to 15%. This fee is not for profit, but to cover the costs associated with selling an item. Each return is evaluated individually, and we strive to minimize this fee. In many instances, we waive it entirely if the refund credit can be applied towards another item in the store.

Please note, all returned items must be in the condition in which they were shipped. If the items are returned in a different condition, we will not be able to accept them.

Every item we sell comes with a pre-owned warranty. Initially, we provided a 90-day warranty, but we now offer a 120-day warranty, similar to a manufacturer's warranty.

Unless noted as "AS IS", all items come with a 120-day warranty through Camera West. This warranty does not cover theft, improper use, fire or water damage, or any issues unrelated to the item functioning as intended by the manufacturer.

If you need to utilize the warranty, please contact us directly at support@camerawest.com to open a support ticket. This allows us to assist you effectively with the repair of your item. We do not accept receipts from repairs conducted without our consent. We need to manage the repair and inspection process from start to finish to ensure the issue is properly resolved and the product is returned to you in working condition.

Please note that vintage gear may require extra patience. Despite thorough inspection and testing, these items, like vintage cars, may develop issues due to their age. Even the most beautifully restored vintage items may have minor issues. They are no longer new and should be treated with special care and attention.
