{"product_id":"leica-35mm-summilux-steel-rim-black-paint-1765242","title":"Leica 35mm Summilux Steel Rim Black Paint 1765242","description":"\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eThis Leica 35mm f1.4 Summilux #1765242, is the early Steel Rim version, without goggles, made for the M2.  It is exceptionally rare in black finish.  \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eThis lens incorporated Lanthanum rare earth glass and was introduced at Photokina in 1960.  It was produced only until 1966.  During that time, it is estimated that around 10k units were made with the M3 goggles and around 15k made without goggles.  It is unknown how many black 35mm Steel Rim lenses were made, but It is known that the black version was cataloged in 1961 and that about 5k units were produced before then.  That leaves around 10k total production from 1961-66, so maybe 10% of that might be black?  In any event, this one dates to 1960, very early for black finish and has an early OLLUX shade in black paint finish.  This shade also does not have the directional arrows that were added later to indicate how to remove the shade from the lens.  It does have the correct caps, UV filter and original box.  The glass is clean and clear and the lens shoots nicely\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Camera West","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46721027440955,"sku":null,"price":0.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0709\/3256\/2235\/files\/1318840-00.jpg?v=1693405471","url":"https:\/\/camerawest.com\/products\/leica-35mm-summilux-steel-rim-black-paint-1765242","provider":"Camera West","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
