I rate it cosmetically a (9). This lens started life as a Nikon 2.1cm f4 Nikkor-O that was modified by Mer Optics in San Diego, California to fit the Nikonos for underwater use. The focus and aperture knobs are quite stiff. The aperture functions properly, but the front lens element tilts a bit when focusing at f8, more at f11, and most at f16 because the O-ring is missing from the base of the lens, leaving it unbalanced; it does not tilt as much at f4 or f5.6. The focus does not travel past 15 feet. The glass has no fungus, but there is faint haze in the rear element and coating marks and scratches on the front element. No O-ring is included. This lens includes a rear cap.
