Panerai Luminor 1950 3 Days PAM 372, Boxed P1866/3000

$5,500.00 Out Of Stock

About This Watch:

Based on the original 1950s Luminor model release, the PAM 172 “Fiddy”, the Panerai PAM 372 is a beautiful nod to Panerai’s rich history of watchmaking for the Italian Navy. The Luminor PAM 372 features a 47mm stainless steel case with an exhibition back, showcasing Panerai’s in-house Calibre P. 3000 movement with a 3-day power reserve. Subtle differences from its predecessor include a cushion-style profile and slimmer lugs than the original Luminor case, as well as a polished case finish in lieu of a brushed finish, with the exception of the crown lock protection, which retains the brushed finish.

The History: Beginning in 1860, Guido Panerai & Figlio in Florence, Italy began producing high-precision instruments, built for the Royal Italian Navy. In 1938, as Officine Panerai, they began producing wristwatches for the Italian Navy Commandos, with the Radiomir, and later the Luminor. It wasn’t until 1993 that they began to produce versions of the Radiomir, as well as the Luminor for sale to the public internationally.

The Watch: The PAM 372 has a polished, stainless steel case with a domed Plexiglas crystal. The dial is a black sandwich style, with beige-colored Luminova on the hands, hour markers, and numerals. Powered by Panerai’s in-house hand-winding Calibre P.3000 movement, the PAM 372 has a 72-hour power reserve and is visible through the sapphire crystal case back. The PAM 372 has a water resistance of 100 meters.

The Details: This Panerai Luminor 1950s 3-Day PAM 372 was originally purchased in August 2014, and shows some wear, consistent with a timepiece of this age, and is visible in the photographs. Included with this timepiece are both outer boxes, the inner wood Panerai display box, operating instructions booklet, certificates booklet, serial number hang tag, strap changing tool, plastic bezel protector, and an excellent condition black alligator leather Panerai strap with stainless steel buckle.
