Camera West San Francisco

Grand Opening

Celebrate the opening of our new San Francisco flagship with in-store demos, master classes, and community events designed to bring photographers and collectors together.

120 Maiden Lane • San Francisco

The Destination

San Francisco has been a key part of Camera West for years. In 2015, we opened the Leica Store just two and a half blocks away on Bush Street, which has become a one-of-a-kind hub for photographers to explore and find inspiration. But something was missing. At Camera West, we've always valued variety and depth—the resources and tools available to photographers, creators, travelers, and adventurers. From Hasselblad and Fujifilm to Leica and more, we've always wanted to carry the best tools on the market. Over the years, we've also discovered that those who appreciate fine photographic tools often enjoy other quality accessories that inspire creativity, including watches and pens.

Downtown San Francisco was the logical choice for our new store. It's central for the Bay Area community to access the resources we offer. Placing it so close to our Leica Store on Bush Street strengthens the collaboration and community shared between our two locations all while allowing it to be a destination for photographers and collectors from all all over the world to visit as a destination worth adding to the itinerary.

Visiting Camera West is more than shopping—it's an immersive experience. The store spans three stories, each offering something unique. The first floor features shop-in-shop experiences from Hasselblad, Fujifilm, and Leica, plus a full selection of Canon, Nikon, and Sony equipment. The second floor showcases vintage and modern fine watches, pens, and accessories for collectors and enthusiasts from CW Watch Shop. The top floor hosts events and workshops in a grand open space, along with pre-owned photographic tools, darkroom supplies, printing materials, bags, tripods, and more.

Our advice? Make a day out visiting Camera West. Grab a coffee in Union Square, stroll through Maiden Lane to visit Camera West, then walk up to Bush Street to explore the latest photography exhibition and immerse yourself in the Leica experience at Leica Store San Francisco. Continue your day through Chinatown and beyond, where endless stories and photographic opportunities await.

📍 333 Post St — 5 min walk

  • Large, city-run garage
  • Often slightly cheaper than private garages
  • Great daytime option (can fill up during peak weekends)

Ellis‑O’Farrell Garage

Does the Maiden Lan store replace the Leica Store on Bush Street?

Leica Store San Francisco on Bush Street will remain a dedicated retail experience for the Leica brand. We now share inventory between both stores, allowing us to better meet your needs while offering distinct experiences just a couple blocks apart. At the Leica Store, you'll find a stunning gallery, a unique selection of new and pre-owned Leica cameras, and an exclusive photobook collection. In the future, we look forward to hosting shared events and in-store demos between both locations. If you're making the trip into the city to visit one store, we encourage you to visit both!

If I can't make it into the city, can I still make a purchase easily?

All orders from our Union Square store to the greater Bay Area will be shipped next day, provided they're placed before 2pm. If you don't want to make the commute into the city but still need something, we're here to help. Orders over $500 ship complimentary via express and usually arrive in one day to local Bay area communities. We're also prioritizing online shipments to local Bay Area addresses for fast, easy delivery.
