Shimoda's Top Loader is the ultimate photographer’s accessory bag. It fits a mirrorless or non-gripped DSLR camera with a mounted mid-size zoom (24-70mm 2.8) or it can be extended to accommodate a mounted 70-200 2.8 lens. The bag is made from the same highly durable and water-resistant resin-coated nylon as our backpacks.
You can carry the Shimoda Top Loader four different ways:
- As a shoulder bag with the included shoulder strap
- Mounted to your chest with additional Shimoda Accessory Straps
- Attached to the waist belt of a Shimoda pack while the bag is being worn
- Attached to the waist belt worn independently of a Shimoda pack
The interior has a padded divider that lets drone pilots pack their DJI Mavic, remote and batteries safely. Finally, the toploader can be placed inside your backpack and set up for quick side-access.
- Mirrorless, DSLR and Drone Friendly - The Top Loader fits a camera body up to Canon 5D/Nikon D850 size with a mounted 24-70mm 2.8 lens. By unzipping the expandable bottom it will fit an attached 70-200mm 2.8. Additionally, the bag comes with a vertical divider allowing you to make a perfect fit for your Mavic drone, controller and accessories.
- Uniquely Modular - The Top Loader is designed to work both independently and as part of the larger Shimoda system. For independent use, it can be carried with the included shoulder strap or attached to your belt. As part of the larger Shimoda system, it can be used in Shimoda's Action X series through the side-access panel, attached to the backpack hip belt, or mounted to the harness of your Explore/Action pack (with optional Accessory Straps).
- Expandable for Telephoto Zoom Lenses - The base quickly unzips allowing you to pack a 70-200 2.8 lens, or to carry a 24-70mm 2.8 with the lens hood extended. Having this option lets users reduce the amount of gear required to carry different sized lens in a top-load packing situation.
- Front Panel Pockets - A protected, zipper-accessed front panel pocket lets you quickly stash smaller items like lens clothes, lens caps and other accessories.
- Carbonate-Coated, Water-Repellant Materials - The Top Loader shares the same lightweight, water-resistant, Carbonate PU-coated ripstop nylon as Shimoda's backpack line. This ensures the same reliable and consistent quality and performance for both travel and mountain scenarios. They also make a handsome match when traveling.

Testing & Inspection
Each piece of pre-owned gear undergoes extensive testing and inspection to ensure it's in good working order. We meticulously note the finer details of an item's condition or function to maintain transparency. This attention to detail may deter some buyers when we mention "minor dust" in a lens, or "faint edge wear" on an otherwise mint condition camera. However, we note these details out of our responsibility to provide an accurate and wholistic representation of the item to you.
Real Photos & Description of The Specific Item
We provide a photo of each pre-owned item for sale, refusing to use generic images. Despite the time, effort, and cost saved, we consider using generic images dishonest. Each pre-owned item you view on our website includes specific photos and description written up by a real person, and photographed in house before we publish an item for sale.
24hr Inspection Period
All pre-owned items come with a 24-hour inspection period (beginning once the item is delivered) to ensure the item arrives as described. If any issues arise, we request you contact us immediately at support@camerawest.com so we can address the problem.
Our Cosmetic Condition Grading
All of our pre-owned items will contain a grade. This grade is a reflection of the cosmetics of an item only. (mechanics and function are noted in the description)
- 10- LIKE NEW | Item shows no visible signs of use. Usually includes some, if not all, of the original packaging. Item can be considered like new.9+VERY GOODItem shows very slight handling wear. Item is almost new, but used lightly.
- 9 GOOD | Item shows minor handling wear, usually shows some signs of edge wear.
- 8+ AVERAGE | Item shows regular signs of use, some edge wear, and normal cosmetic marks from general use.
- 8 BELOW AVERAGE | Item shows significant wear from normal use. Some paint loss, and edge wear. Regular cosmetic marks are visible.
- 7+ ACCEPTABLE BARGAIN | Item shows nominal signs of heavy use. Significant paint loss, edge wear and cosmetic marks are visible throughout the item.7AVERAGE BARGAINItem shows significant signs of heavy handling. Significant paint loss, edge wear, and visual marks can be seen throughout the item.
- 6+ EXTREME BARGAIN | Item shows extreme signs of heavy handling. Extreme paint loss, edge wear and visual marks can be seen throughout the item.
All our shipments are fully insured. For shipments valued over $150, a direct signature will be required upon delivery.
We utilize various shipping carriers, with FedEx Express being our primary choice for 2-Day and Overnight shipping within the US, as well as International deliveries.
We accept returns within 14 days of delivery, subject to a restocking fee of up to 15%. This fee is not for profit, but to cover the costs associated with selling an item. Each return is evaluated individually, and we strive to minimize this fee. In many instances, we waive it entirely if the refund credit can be applied towards another item in the store.
Please note, all returned items must be in the condition in which they were shipped. If the items are returned in a different condition, we will not be able to accept them.
Every item we sell comes with a pre-owned warranty.
Unless noted as "AS IS", all items come with a 90-day warranty through Camera West. This warranty does not cover theft, improper use, fire or water damage, or any issues unrelated to the item functioning as intended by the manufacturer.
If you need to utilize the warranty, please contact us directly at support@camerawest.com to open a support ticket. This allows us to assist you effectively with the repair of your item. We do not accept receipts from repairs conducted without our consent. We need to manage the repair and inspection process from start to finish to ensure the issue is properly resolved and the product is returned to you in working condition.
Please note that vintage gear may require extra patience. Despite thorough inspection and testing, these items, like vintage cars, may develop issues due to their age. Even the most beautifully restored vintage items may have minor issues. They are no longer new and should be treated with special care and attentio
