Eleven Blades, Smoother Bokeh

The current design uses an eleven-blade diaphragm, up from nine, for a rounder aperture opening and visibly creamier, more refined bokeh. Combined with a floating element that maintains performance across the focus range, it renders out-of-focus areas with the smoothness Leica shooters prize.

Close Focus to 0.4 m

Minimum focusing distance drops to 0.4 m for tighter framing and shallow-depth close-ups. The lens focuses via the rangefinder to 0.7 m, then extends into the 0.7–0.4 m range through Live View, the Visoflex, or the Leica FOTOS app — a meaningful jump in creative flexibility over earlier versions.
