The classic telephoto zoom focal length is ideal for portrait photography. High-performance trinity set

Together with the Super-Vario-Elmarit-SL 14-24 f/2.8 ASPH. and the Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-70 f/2.8 ASPH., the Vario-Elmarit-SL 70-200 f/2.8 ASPH. completes the high-performance trinity set with L-Mount bayonets. The set ensures the Leica SL-System is perfectly prepared for any shooting scenario, spanning the entire focal length range from 14mm ultra-wide to 200mm telephoto, all with a consistent f/2.8 aperture. 

Constructional Details

The 20 lenses are arranged into 15 groups, including three with aspherical surfaces, to deliver maximum imaging performance. All lenses are crafted from high-quality glass, with seven featuring low refractive index and exceptionally low dispersion and high abnormal partial dispersion, ensuring razor-sharp, high-contrast and true-to-life colours. The lens's various focal lengths are achieved through reliable internal focusing, maintaining a constant, compact length throughout the entire zoom range.

The Leica Extenders L 1.4x and L 2.0x, both compact in size, easily fit into any camera bag. They bring you closer to the action and reveal distant details that become visible only when zoomed in. Use the Leica Extender L 1.4x to extend the range of the Vario-Elmarit-SL 70-200 f/2.8 ASPH. quickly and easily to 280mm at any time and even up to 400mm with the Leica Extender L 2.0x.
