This is the first SL lens to feature a 14 mm focal length, adding a genuinely dramatic super-wide perspective to the system. At 14 mm you get a 114.2-degree diagonal angle of view for architecture, interiors, and sweeping landscapes.

Constant f/2.8 Performance

A constant f/2.8 maximum aperture holds across the entire 14-24 mm range, so exposure and depth of field stay consistent as you zoom. The 18-element, 13-group design uses aspherical elements to suppress distortion and chromatic aberration.

Close Focus and Fast AF

The lens focuses from 0.28 m to infinity at all focal lengths, and autofocus (or manual) is selectable on the camera with fast, quiet operation. An electronically controlled aperture stops down to f/22 in half or third steps.

Built for the Elements

The aluminum full-metal housing is black anodized and dust- and splash-water protected, with an Aqua-Dura hydrophobic coating. A permanently mounted metal hood shields the curved front element, and a bayonet holder accepts foil filters.
