The NIKKOR Z 26mm f/2.8 is Nikon's pancake prime for Z mount, 1 inch long and 4.5 oz., which Nikon called the slimmest and lightest lens in the Z series when it launched in February 2023. The 26mm view is a little wider than a 28mm and noticeably less dramatic than a 24mm, which makes it a comfortable focal length for street work and interiors.

An all-element focusing system moves every group together under a stepping motor, which is how Nikon held the barrel this short while keeping sharpness consistent from the 0.66 ft. close focus point to infinity. The body is metal where it counts, dust- and drip-resistant, and the control ring is programmable.
