Brand Nikon System Nikon Z

The Nikon Z30 is the smallest body in the Z line at 350 g, built around a 20.9MP DX-format sensor and aimed squarely at video and self-recording. It skips the viewfinder entirely in favor of a 3-inch vari-angle touchscreen that flips forward, and it will run 4K at 30p for up to 125 minutes, which is unusual at this size and price.

Handling is simple by design: a deep enough grip for one hand, a front tally lamp so you know you are recording, a stereo mic on top and a 3.5 mm jack for a better one. What it does not have is in-body stabilization or weather sealing, so pair it with a VR lens if you shoot handheld a lot. Ask our team and we can help you match it to the right Z DX lens for the kind of content you make.

Buy from an authorized Nikon dealer like Camera West to ensure a genuine product with full manufacturer warranty and expert support.

All shipments are fully insured; orders over $150 require a signature. FedEx Express 2-Day and Overnight within the US. Returns accepted within 14 days and are subject to a 15% restocking fee.

Built Around Video

The Z30 is Nikon's smallest Z body at 350 g, and it is set up for people who talk to a camera. There is no viewfinder at all; you compose on a 3-inch vari-angle touchscreen that flips forward, and a red tally lamp on the front tells you when you are rolling. A stereo mic sits on top and a 3.5 mm jack takes an external mic when you want better sound.

Sensor and Stills

The 20.9MP DX CMOS sensor is the same size class Nikon uses across its APS-C bodies, so stills hold up well past what a phone can do. ISO runs 100 to 51,200 with expansion to 204,800, burst reaches 11 fps in extended high-speed mode, and the 209-point hybrid AF tracks faces and eyes for people, dogs and cats.

What You Give Up

Two things to know going in. There is no in-body stabilization, so you rely on VR lenses or electronic VR in video, and the single SD slot is UHS-I rather than UHS-II. The body is also not weather sealed. In exchange you get a camera that disappears in a jacket pocket and can run 4K for up to 125 minutes.
