Brand Nikon System Nikon Z

The Nikon Z5II pairs a 24.5MP FX sensor with EXPEED 7, the same processor Nikon puts in its pro bodies, and this kit adds the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S. That processor is what carries the camera: autofocus that recognizes nine subject types and works down to -10 EV, bursts to 30 fps in the C30 JPEG mode, and in-body VR rated to 7.5 stops.

The body is magnesium alloy, sealed against dust and moisture, with a 3690k-dot finder that runs up to 3000 nits and a vari-angle 2100k-dot screen. The 24-70mm f/4 S holds its aperture across the range and focuses to 0.3 m at any focal length, which makes it a genuinely useful walkaround rather than a lens you replace in six months. If you are deciding between this kit and the 24-50mm or 24-120mm versions, give us a call and we will walk through the differences.

What the Kit Pairs

This is the Z5II body with the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S, the S-line standard zoom rather than the budget retractable. The lens holds a constant f/4 across the range, uses Nano Crystal Coat and a fluorine front element, focuses to 0.3 m at every zoom setting for a 0.3x reproduction ratio, and takes 72mm filters. It weighs 500 g, so the pair balances well without feeling heavy.

Processor and Autofocus

The Z5II runs the same EXPEED 7 processor as Nikon's pro bodies, which is what makes the rest of the spec sheet work. Autofocus covers 273 points in single-point and 299 in auto-area, detects nine subject types plus a dedicated bird mode, and holds focus down to -10 EV. Pre-Release Capture buffers frames before you fully press the shutter.

Speed, Stabilization and Video

Continuous shooting runs about 14 fps in extended high-speed and up to 30 fps in the C30 JPEG mode. In-body VR is rated to 7.5 stops (CIPA 2024, measured with the NIKKOR Z 24-120mm f/4 S). On the video side you get 4K UHD to 60p, Full HD to 120p, 12-bit N-RAW internally, N-Log and HLG, and clips up to 2 hours 5 minutes.
