Camera West is an authorized Nikon dealer, so the kit arrives with genuine U.S. warranty coverage and support from Nikon Inc. A lens hood is not included with this lens; the HN-40 is sold separately.

The lens retracts to about 51 mm long and weighs 195 g, so the pair stays genuinely pocketable in a small bag. The tradeoff is a modest 2x range and a variable aperture that drops to f/6.3 by 50mm.

Body Capability

The Z5 uses a 24.3MP FX-format CMOS sensor with the EXPEED 6 processor, five-axis in-body VR rated to five stops, and a 273-point hybrid AF system with eye detection for people and animals. Native ISO runs 100 to 51,200. Burst tops out at 4.5 fps, which suits portraits, travel and landscape work more than fast action.

Video and Its Limits

The Z5 records UHD 4K at 30, 25 and 24 fps and Full HD up to 60 fps, with mic and headphone jacks. 4K uses a 1.7x crop of the sensor, which turns the 24-50mm into roughly a 41-85mm view for video, so Full HD is the better mode if you need the wide end. Clips cap at 29 minutes 59 seconds.
