This lens offers exceptional sharpness across the entire image and features a fast F2.8 maximum aperture. It is 7% smaller and 10% lighter than its predecessor, with autofocus that is three times faster. The lens boasts a minimum focusing distance of 17cm (6.7 in.), a dust and splash-resistant build, and a water and oil repellent front coating. It is designed to reduce focus breathing, flare, and ghosting, and includes two AFL buttons and an aperture ring with a de-click function. Additionally, it is compatible with Lens Aberration Correction.
