Overview
The fastest lens for the S-System is a practically perfect portrait lens with creative versatility and shallow depth of field comparable with the Summilux lenses for 35 mm cameras and optical performance previously unattained in medium-format photography. Its exceptional imaging performance remains at a constantly high level at all apertures and from infinity to its closest focusing distance. At the same time, its high speed and optimum flare suppression guarantee enormous flexibility in even the most critical lighting scenarios.
Of its seven lens elements in five groups, one is a double-sided aspherical that minimises monochromatic aberrations. Three glasses with anomalous partial dispersion ensure extremely well-balanced chromatic correction. As a floating element, the rearmost cemented element ensures exceptional contrast at all distance settings. The particularly sophisticated multilayer coating used in the lens guarantees perfectly neutral rendition of colours.
Although the Summicron-S 100 mm f/2 ASPH. features full-system focusing, its special construction provides a constant barrel length that ensures extreme resilience by sealing the system effectively against dust and moisture. The particularly hard glasses of the front and rear lens elements contribute to a long working life, even under unfavourable conditions. The optimised lens hood can be reversed and slipped over the lens barrel to save space in the camera case or bag.

This attention to detail may deter some buyers when we mention "minor dust" in a lens, or "faint edge wear" on an otherwise mint condition camera. However, we note these details out of our responsibility to provide an accurate and wholistic representation of the item to you.
Real Photos & Description of The Specific Item
We provide a photo of each pre-owned item for sale, refusing to use generic images. Despite the time, effort, and cost saved, we consider using generic images dishonest. Each pre-owned item you view on our website includes specific photos and description written up by a real person, and photographed in house before we publish an item for sale.
24hr Inspection Period
All pre-owned items come with a 24-hour inspection period (beginning once the item is delivered) to ensure the item arrives as described. If any issues arise, we request you contact us immediately at support@camerawest.com so we can address the problem.
Our Cosmetic Condition Grading
All of our pre-owned items will contain a grade. This grade is a reflection of the cosmetics of an item only. (mechanics and function are noted in the description)
- 10- LIKE NEW | Item shows no visible signs of use. Usually includes some, if not all, of the original packaging. Item can be considered like new.9+VERY GOODItem shows very slight handling wear. Item is almost new, but used lightly.
- 9 GOOD | Item shows minor handling wear, usually shows some signs of edge wear.
- 8+ AVERAGE | Item shows regular signs of use, some edge wear, and normal cosmetic marks from general use.
- 8 BELOW AVERAGE | Item shows significant wear from normal use. Some paint loss, and edge wear. Regular cosmetic marks are visible.
- 7+ ACCEPTABLE BARGAIN | Item shows nominal signs of heavy use. Significant paint loss, edge wear and cosmetic marks are visible throughout the item.7AVERAGE BARGAINItem shows significant signs of heavy handling. Significant paint loss, edge wear, and visual marks can be seen throughout the item.

All our shipments are fully insured. For shipments valued over $150, a direct signature will be required upon delivery.
We utilize various shipping carriers, with FedEx Express being our primary choice for 2-Day and Overnight shipping within the US, as well as International deliveries.
We accept returns within 14 days of delivery, subject to a restocking fee of up to 15%. This fee is not for profit, but to cover the costs associated with selling an item. Each return is evaluated individually, and we strive to minimize this fee. In many instances, we waive it entirely if the refund credit can be applied towards another item in the store.
Please note, all returned items must be in the condition in which they were shipped. If the items are returned in a different condition, we will not be able to accept them.
Every item we sell comes with a pre-owned warranty.
Unless noted as "AS IS", all items come with a 90-day warranty through Camera West. This warranty does not cover theft, improper use, fire or water damage, or any issues unrelated to the item functioning as intended by the manufacturer.
If you need to utilize the warranty, please contact us directly at support@camerawest.com to open a support ticket. This allows us to assist you effectively with the repair of your item. We do not accept receipts from repairs conducted without our consent. We need to manage the repair and inspection process from start to finish to ensure the issue is properly resolved and the product is returned to you in working condition.
Please note that vintage gear may require extra patience. Despite thorough inspection and testing, these items, like vintage cars, may develop issues due to their age. Even the most beautifully restored vintage items may have minor issues. They are no longer new and should be treated with special care and attentio
