The Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED is an ultra-wide zoom for DX-format DSLRs, opening up to a 109 degree angle of view at 10mm and covering what would be a 15 to 36mm range on full frame. Three aspherical elements and two ED elements keep distortion and color fringing under control across the zoom, which matters more at 10mm than just about anywhere else.

Internal focusing keeps the barrel a fixed length, so a 77mm polarizer holds its orientation while you focus, and the Silent Wave Motor autofocuses fast and quietly with full-time manual override. At 16.2 oz it balances fine on a D7500 or D500. Two things worth knowing before you buy: it is DX only, so an FX body will switch to DX crop mode, and there is no VR, which means slow shutter speeds want a tripod. Ultra Wide On DX

At 10mm the angle of view is 109 degrees, close to fisheye territory but rectilinear, and it narrows to 61 degrees at 24mm. In full-frame terms that works out to roughly 15 to 36mm, a 2.4x range that covers everything from a tight interior to a normal-ish wide. On an FX body the lens drops the camera into DX crop mode.

Optical Design
