We are expanding our brick and mortar footprint, while developing a new retail model which will debut in New York City this fall. Our reputation has been built by being passionate photography enthusiasts and by providing exceptional customer service with a finely curated selection of photography equipment and accessories.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Sales Associate with a love for photography to join our team. This role goes beyond traditional sales—encompassing merchandising, product evaluation, and operational support. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth camera knowledge, strong communication skills, and proven sales ability, while embodying a keen ability to learn and grow with us at Camera West. This position offers a unique opportunity to blend your knowledge of photography with customer engagement and operational expertise.
Key Responsibilities:

Sales and Customer Service

Engage with customers to understand their photography needs and recommend suitable products.

Provide expert advice on cameras, lenses, and accessories.

Build long-term relationships with customers by delivering exceptional service.

Merchandising and Operations
-
Maintain an organized and visually appealing sales floor.

Assist in inventory management and restocking.

Handle back-of-house operations, including processing and shipping orders.

Photography and Product Evaluation

Test and evaluate cameras, lenses, and related equipment for quality and performance.

Conduct product photography to showcase items for online sales.

Edit photos using Photoshop to ensure high-quality images for web listings.

Collecting assets for web and social platforms.

Collaboration and Innovation

Work closely with the web and operations teams to ensure accurate product listings and descriptions.

Contribute ideas for improving the customer experience both in-store and online.
Qualifications:

Proven sales experience, preferably in photography or related industries.

In-depth knowledge of cameras, lenses, and photographic equipment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Photoshop for photo editing and enhancement.

Experience with merchandising and maintaining a visually appealing retail environment.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Familiarity with product testing and evaluation is a plus.
