About This Watch:

The Breitling Aviator 8 Curtiss Warhawk Edition stems as a commemorative timepiece honoring the early contributions of Breitling timing instruments to the Royal Air Force, and to legendary aircraft manufacturer Curtiss Wright and his iconic P-40 Warhawk aircraft. With its vintage military aesthetic, the Breitling Aviator 8 Curtiss Warhawk Edition is a perfect balance between old and new.

The History: Breitling was established in 1884, by watchmaker Léon Breitling. His patented chronograph designs quickly gained popularity in industrial, military, and scientific markets. Their innovative designs and technology, along with their reputation for reliability and functionality continue to make Breitling a mainstay in the watchmaking world today.

The Watch: The Breitling Aviator 8 Curtiss Warhawk Edition features a 41mm stainless steel DLC-coated case with a sapphire crystal, and an engraved case back featuring a Curtiss P-40 Warhawk. The coin-edge bezel is bi-directional with a red triangle, much like the Ref 768 that this Aviator 8 is based on. The dial is military green with Arabic numerals and a date window at the 6 o’clock position. Both the hour and minute hands are lumed, while the second hand has a red arrow tip. Powered by a Breitling Calibre 17 movement, the Curtiss Warhawk Edition has a power reserve of 40 hours, a water-resistance rating of 100m, and is COSC-certified.

The Details: This Breitling Aviator 8 Curtiss Warhawk Edition is in very good condition. The case and lugs show minimal wear, as visible in the photographs. This set comes with outer and inner boxes, Breitling hangtag, original case stickers, document holder, conditions and maintenance booklet, instruction booklet, and original Breitling khaki green fabric strap with stainless steel Breitling buckle.

The easiest way to trade is to bring your gear into one of our stores and meet with us in person. However, we also accommodate those who can't visit our stores. Our online process is both personal and simple.

To begin, fill out the form on our Trade // Sell page with the details of the fine photographic equipment or watches you'd like to trade in. One of our team members will then contact you to confirm any details we might need for an accurate estimate. We will provide an estimate that doesn’t only look at the value of your trade in but the whole picture of where you want to go. If the estimate is satisfactory to you, we can provide a shipping label for you to ship your gear to one of our stores for a final inspection and store credit. Finally, we apply that credit towards your new gear!
