Zooming and focusing both happen inside the barrel, so the lens stays approximately 199 mm long at 70mm and at 200mm. Nothing extends, the center of gravity does not move, and a rig or gimbal stays trimmed through the whole range. The tripod mount attaches and releases with a lock button and no tools, and the bundled LH-E1 lens holder supports the lens when it is built into a rig.
