The FUJINON XF400mmF4.5 R LM OIS WR is a super-telephoto prime for X Series bodies, and on an APS-C sensor it frames like a 609mm lens on full frame. The optical formula runs 21 elements in 14 groups, four of them ED and two Super ED, with Super EBC coating to hold down ghosting and flare. That is the part that matters at this focal length: fine feather and fur detail either survives out at 400mm or it does not.

At 2.74 lb (1245 g) and 9.4 inches long, it is short and light for a 400mm, so a full day handheld on a trail or a sideline is realistic. Up to 5.5 stops of optical stabilization and a linear AF motor with focus presets help when a bird leaves the branch before you are ready. The tradeoffs are worth knowing: f4.5 means higher ISO than an f2.8 super-telephoto in early or late light, minimum focus is 108.3 inches (275 cm), and the front filter thread is 95mm, which is not a cheap filter size. We accept returns within 14 days of delivery, subject to a restocking fee of up to 15%. This fee is not for profit, but to cover the costs associated with selling an item. Each return is evaluated individually, and we strive to minimize this fee. In many instances, we waive it entirely if the refund credit can be applied towards another item in the store.

Please note, all returned items must be in the condition in which they were shipped. If the items are returned in a different condition, we will not be able to accept them.
