About the Watch:

Making its debut in 1998, the IWC Portugieser Chrono-Automatic Ref 3714 is one of the most recognizable and popular of the Portuguese models. With its polished stainless steel case, ultra-thin bezel, and iconic dial configuration that has remained largely unchanged since its original release, the Ref 3714 is a timeless classic.

The History:

Founded in 1868 by an American watchmaking pioneer, Florentine Ariosto Jones, the International Watch Company launched in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. Nestled on the banks of the Rhine River, IWC’s factory began its pursuit of manufacturing watches of the highest quality, utilizing modern technology, as well as some of Switzerland’s most talented watchmakers.

The Watch:

The IWC Portugieser Chrono-Automatic Ref IW3714-04 features a 40.9 mm stainless steel case and a sapphire crystal. The dial is a reverse-panda style, with a black dial plate and two silver sub-dials, featuring a small seconds dial at the 6 o’clock position and a 30-minute counter at the 12 o’clock position. The hour, minute, and chronograph hands are silver, while the sub-dial hands are both blued. Powered by an automatic Calibre 79240 movement, the IW3714-04 has a 44-hour power reserve and a water resistance rating of 30 meters.

The Details:

This IWC Portugieser IW3714-04 is in good condition, with some wear marks around the case and bezel, which are consistent with a piece of this age. This timepiece comes with original outer and inner boxes, instruction booklet, guarantee card, guarantee booklet, and stainless steel IWC tang-style buckle.

The easiest way to trade is to bring your gear into one of our stores and meet with us in person. However, we also accommodate those who can't visit our stores. Our online process is both personal and simple.

To begin, fill out the form on our Trade // Sell page with the details of the fine photographic equipment or watches you'd like to trade in. One of our team members will then contact you to confirm any details we might need for an accurate estimate. We will provide an estimate that doesn’t only look at the value of your trade in but the whole picture of where you want to go. If the estimate is satisfactory to you, we can provide a shipping label for you to ship your gear to one of our stores for a final inspection and store credit. Finally, we apply that credit towards your new gear!
