This is the original Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH (Leica catalog 11892) in silver chrome, the version Leica made from 2004 until the redesign in 2023. This example was built at Leica's plant in Portugal rather than in Germany. The design is 8 elements in 5 groups with one aspherical surface and a floating element, so it holds contrast wide open and stays consistent as you focus close.

The silver chrome barrel is brass, so at about 470 g it's noticeably heavier than the black anodized version, and it feels solid on a silver M. The hood is built in: it telescopes out and locks with a twist, so there's nothing extra to carry. Rangefinder focus runs to 0.7 m.
