The Leica Ultravid 8x50 HD-Plus has the largest exit pupil in the Ultravid line at 6.2 mm. That is what you want at first and last light, when a 32 or 42 mm binocular starts to go gray and the 50 mm objectives are still delivering usable brightness.

It is nitrogen-filled and waterproof to 5 m, with a magnesium body, and it weighs about 1,000 g. That weight is the price of the brightness, so plan on a harness for long days. A 6.2 mm exit pupil and a twilight factor of 20.0 make the 8x50 the Ultravid for dawn, dusk, and dark timber.

Comfortable to Look Through

17 mm of eye relief and a large exit pupil make the image easy to find, even with glasses on or when you are tired at the end of a day.

Heavier by Design

At about 1,000 g and 182 mm tall, this is a big binocular. If you glass mostly in daylight, a 42 mm Ultravid will be easier to carry.
