About This Watch:
One of the most versatile timepieces in the Omega lineup. the Seamaster Aqua Terra 41mm Co-Axial Chronometer celebrates Omega’s rich maritime heritage with details such as the wave-edged design of the case back and the horizontal plank pattern on the dial, inspired by the wooden decks of most luxury sailboats. Powered by a Co-Axial Chronometer Calibre 8900 movement, the Aqua Terra has a Master Chronometer certification, which is a step beyond what a typical COSC certification requires of a timepiece, making this watch one of the most accurate timepieces produced. The History: The Omega Company was started by Louis Brandt in 1848 in Le Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland. Brandt’s sons would later expand the company and began to manufacture their own parts, including their first mass-produced calibre movement, the Labrador, in 1884. They continued their work and made the 19-line OMEGA caliber a decade later, which gave the company its name. After the turn of the century, Omega became the official timekeeper for several sporting events, which led to their eventual selection as the single timekeeper of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 1932.
The Watch: The Omega Aqua Terra 150M Co-Axial Master Chronometer Ref 220.10.41.21.01.001 features a 41mm stainless steel case with a polished, fixed bezel, a sapphire crystal, and an exhibition case back. The black dial features a plank pattern, with arrow-shaped hour markers, arrow-tipped minute and seconds hands, and a date window at the 6 o’clock position. Powered by an in-house Calibre 8900 Co-Axial movement, the Aqua Terra is a Certified Master Chronometer approved by METAS and resistant to magnetic fields reaching 15,000 gausses. The Calibre 8900 features a free-sprung balance with a silicon balance spring, two barrels mounted in series, and automatic winding in both directions. The Aqua Terra has a 60-hour power reserve and is water resistant to 150 meters.
