A recalculated 9-element, 6-group design with an aspherical surface delivers rich contrast, high resolution, and fine detail already at f/2. The optics largely eliminate astigmatic differences caused by the sensor cover glass, for corner-to-corner quality on digital M bodies.

Clean Rendering

The lens renders soft, smooth bokeh and largely suppresses distracting reflections and flare, even in backlit conditions, for clean images in difficult light.

Refined M Handling

A 10-blade diaphragm with click-stops and half values stops down to f/16, and rangefinder focusing reaches 0.7 m. A full-metal screw-on hood and a thread-protection ring are supplied, on a 6-bit-coded Leica M bayonet. Made in Germany.
